In the motion picture, the artillery draft-team used by the guerilleros was composed of up to 16 mules;
as mule figurines are not generally available, I decided to use Clydesdale horses. The set up is meant to depict
the gun after delivery to the British after the battle at Avila. The drivers represent the Royal Artillery
Drivers Corp, and are in the uniforms worn between 1809 and 1812. The saddles are 1856 British wood-arch Universal
Pattern saddles, and although not in period, they have a retro design which gives them a period-appropriate look. A major reason for having chosen this saddle is the general lack of reliable information on saddles in British service during the Napoleonic era.
I have now added the heraldry to the breech, and florets around the muzzle; repousse on brass was used to generate
the artwork.
